No question I'm going to have myself a Snickers at some point today. I was always happy with anything that had chocolate in it.
I thought it was supposed to be girls who had a thing for chocolate...hmmmmmm
You know what always sukked? Pennies.
There is a spider on my monitor right now. Happy Halloween to me!
What sucked were those peanut chewy things in the orange and black wrappers. I like chewy peanut stuff, but I hated getting those for some reason.
Guys definitely like chocolate too.
My favorite was/is pretty much anything chocolate. I was NOT a big Snickers fan, however.
This year I will be distributing candy to other party goers from my devilish bag that I bought at Goodwill for $2. I have selected a variety of candy: Blow Pops, Twix, Three Musketeers, Reeses cups, Butterfinger, and actually Snickers too.... I meant to buy Milky Way dark but did not. Mmmmm....
Oh, and I like smarties too. Yum!
Jason - I TOTALLY hated those orange and black peanuty things. LOL.
I heard that dark chocolate (as opposed to milk chocolate) is actually somewhat healthy. Is this true?
Yes, in fact, yesterday it was the health tip of the day from Realage.com:
"Make your heart happier this Halloween by treating it to dark chocolate.
Studies suggest that a little bit of dark chocolate may do your heart some good. Dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids, antioxidant-like compounds that protect the cardiovascular system. Just keep portion sizes small. This heart-healthy treat is high in calories."
Does anyone like candy corn? I could only eat a couple at a time. Since I am partial to fruity candy, I was always happy to see Skittles in my collection as well.
Pennies were awful. And black licorice. Yuck.
What are dark chocolate candy bars? Hershey's has one, right?
Yep, Hershey's has dark chocolate, and now Milky Way makes Milky way dark which ROCKS. Dark Chocolate is delicious. When I was a kid, and we got those Hershey's sampler packs at Halloween, my parents told me that children didn't like dark chocolate so they'd eat all those for us. They fooled us for a few years with that one.
Stacy I still always think of you when I eat or even just see Skittles!!!
Oh and candy corn. What is up with those? They are really pretty awful yet I'll eat them if in dire need of sugar. I'd pick them over the peanuty orange and black things, though.
No No! Hershey's chocolate (Any kind, but Special Dark especially) = rat turdlike substance. (But will suffice in a pinch. hee hee)
There is a local chocolatier, VOSAGE, that make all these weird combinations with wasabi and saffron and stuff- very good!
I can't think of any good dark choco you can just get at the 7-11 tho....
Dark is my favorite kind!
PS. am i a freak if i like those peanut thingies?
Yes, anyone who likes those peanut thingies is a freak. Same goes for black licorice. Sorry.
My favorite Halloween candies were the mini Hershey's bars! Especially Hershey's Dark Chocolate and Crackel. yum. Anything chocolate, chocolate... and I gave away everything else to the kids in my class.
I must concur that Hershey's is entirely inferior. I guess we do what we have to though.
Mmmmmmm. Have to check out VOSAGE, sounds wonderful.
I will have to use the "dark chocolate is for adults" one with my kids one day - that's awesome.
OK, all this talk about sugary yumminess is making me hungry - going to grab some lunch. There must be some way to get chocolate involved.
Just testing the comments today. Looks like a bunch of spammers got nixed by the mt-blacklist thing I installed.
